KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd today announced the appointment of Azhari Muhidin as Group Editor for News and Current Affairs (NCA) Television Networks and Kamaruddin Mape as General Manager of On-Air Presentation (OAP), NCA Division.
In a statement, Media Prima said their appointments will take effect on Dec 1, and they will report to Media Prima Group Managing Editor Jasbant Singh.
Media Prima said Azhari will play a leadership role in the day-to-day management of NCA Television Networks while continuing to head the NCA's Advertorial Unit.
"Azhari brings over 30 years of experience with Media Prima, having served in various capacities from broadcast journalist to his most recent role as Deputy Group Editor, NCA.
"Over the past four years, he has demonstrated exceptional editorial leadership while spearheading the Advertorial Unit, a key contributor to the Group's financial performance.
"Azhari's proven track record positions him as an invaluable asset to the Group."
The statement said Kamaruddin, as the general manager of OAP, will work closely with the Human Resources Department to develop and implement impactful OAP programmes.
"Kamaruddin will oversee the reorganisation of the OAP Department, a critical initiative aimed at enhancing editorial, presentation, and production capabilities across all platforms.
"With extensive experience as a Group Editor, over the past four years, coupled with a career as a versatile newscaster and broadcast journalist, Kamaruddin is well-equipped to drive the OAP Department's initiatives to greater heights.
"His leadership will ensure OAP delivers value not only to NCA employees but also to those across Media Prima's platforms, including New Straits Times, Berita Harian, and Harian Metro."
The statement added that Azhari and Kamaruddin's extensive backgrounds and proven leadership will play pivotal roles in advancing Media Prima's objectives.
