KUALA LUMPUR: KL Wellness City branding, sales and marketing director Datuk Seri Dr Vincent Tiew was recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records (MBR) for achieving "The Most Ironman Competitions Completed by an Entrepreneur", for completing 11 full Ironman triathlon races within 24 months.
The MBR certification was presented to Tiew by an official from MBR and witnessed by the guest of honour, Tourism Malaysia deputy chairman Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin during an event recently.
The Ironman is a series of long-distance triathlon races organised by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC).
Each race consists of a 3.86km swim, a 180.25km bike ride, and a 42.20km marathon run, all completed in succession.
Tiew's latest and 11th Ironman race was Ironman Malaysia Langkawi which was held on Oct 12.
The event also marked the celebration of KL Wellness City's partnerships with its strategic partners, who have played a vital role in supporting the KL Wellness City Ironman triathlon team.
The partners included COWA, Vanilla Crepe, VIVO, Kinohimitsu, Nisa Bakri Gourmet, Sweat SPA, US Pizza, and Thule.
Tiew expressed his gratitude during the ceremony, saying, "This recognition is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the incredible support and belief from my team, partners, and the KL Wellness City community.
"Together, we are pushing boundaries in both health and wellness, and I am honoured to have completed this journey alongside so many dedicated supporters," he said in a statement.
Tiew's achievement aligns with KL Wellness City's broader vision of establishing Malaysia as a premier destination for medical and wellness tourism.
Through the development of the KL Wellness City township, the company strives to raise the standards of healthcare by providing world-class medical, wellness, and healthcare services.
"Whenever the KL Wellness City Triathlon Team competes internationally in countries such as recently at New Zealand, Italy, Denmark, Germany, and Australia they often proudly represent Malaysia as the sole Malaysian team, flying the nation's flag high on the global stage.
"The KL Wellness City Triathlon Team are also a regular presence in Malaysia's own Ironman triathlon race in Langkawi, which takes place at the end of each calendar year. This international exposure helps promote both Malaysia and KL Wellness City as leaders in medical and wellness tourism," he added.
