Jom Heboh Carnival set to thrill visitors in Johor Baru

JOHOR BARU: After its successful run in five states – Sarawak, Putrajaya, Melaka, Terengganu and Penang – the Jom Heboh Carnival (KJH) has now moved southward to Johor Baru.

KJH Johor Baru 2024 will be held at Padang B, Angsana Johor Bahru Mall, over three days, from today until Sunday.

The Jom Heboh Carnival, brought by Baba's, starts as early as 9am daily, featuring a variety of engaging events, prizes and activities.

The iconic event has attracted over 300,000 visitors at each location and has been recognised by The Malaysia Book Of Records as the "Longest Field Event" due to its array of exciting activities.

Over its three days in Johor Baru, KJH offers numerous activities. Visitors have the chance to win attractive prizes from booths by The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad (NSTP), Studio Tonton Drama Sangat (STDS), Studio Jom Heboh, Hot FM and Vocket.

The NSTP booth stands out at KJH with Pet Zootopia, an exhibition of over 25 exotic animals including pythons and parrots, which visitors can pet and photograph.

NSTP's Business Development and Special Projects manager Tengku Kaifi Mirza Tuan Cherit said more than 2,000 visitors are expected to visit the NSTP Pet Zootopia booth.

He said among Pet Zootopia's main attractions are the Common Marmoset, one of the world's smallest monkeys from Brazil, and the Prairie Dog or American ground squirrel from Mexico.

"With a ticket price of RM20 for a family of four to enter the NSTP Pet Zootopia, families can not only view exotic and unique animals but also gain new insights into the exhibited species, especially their habitats and interesting facts provided in the exhibition.

"We are also holding the 'Pencarian Hos Versatile NSTP' for children under 12 with talents in hosting, acting or singing. Those interested can register and record their talent videos at the NSTP booth, with the final round hosted by celebrity Fahrin Ahmad at 2pm this Sunday, where the winner will take home a cash prize," he said.

Visitor Noor Laylieza Masnawi, 41, from Skudai, said her family didn't want to miss the chance to attend KJH after following it previously.

"My children were very excited about KJH due to the many activities and interesting booths to visit, not to mention the goodie bags they received.

"The NSTP Pet Zootopia exhibition is also very interesting as our family got to see and learn about exotic animal species we have never seen before," she said.

In addition to booths under Media Prima, more than 160 other booths will offer great promotions and attractive prizes, with first-time participation from Puspakom.

The STDS booth will also bring a special surprise by offering a grand prize of a 65-inch Samsung Smart TV worth up to RM3,500, which will be awarded on each of the three days of the carnival.
