ISKANDAR PUTERI: Barisan Nasional (BN) has yet to decide on collaborating with Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the upcoming Johor election even though its Sabah wing has decided to do so for its polls next year.
BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said a decision would be announced at the appropriate time.
"I will make an announcement (regarding BN and PH cooperation for the Johor polls) when the time is right," he said briefly.
He said this today when asked whether the BN-PH cooperation would apply in the Johor elections as in Sabah.
Earlier, he attended the Grand Finals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia (MPLMY) at EduCity Sports Complex here.
Present were Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and Johor state secretary Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani.
Earlier in Kuching, Sarawak, Zahid, who is also deputy prime minister, announced that BN and PH would continue their cooperation in the Sabah election.
The Umno president also gave his assurance that there would be no overlapping of seats between the two coalitions, with each party using its respective logo.
The BN-led state government was established in Johor after the coalition won 40 out of 56 seats in the state legislative assembly in March 2022.
