SUNGAI PETANI: A lorry driver had a close shave with death when his vehicle collided with a crane on Jalan Lencongan Timur here today.
Amanjaya Fire and Rescue Station chief, Azahari Abdullah, said rescuers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at around 5.17pm.
"Upon arrival, the team found that a lorry had crashed into a crane.
"The lorry driver, in his 50s, was pinned inside the lorry with his legs badly injured," he said in a statement.
Azahari said the rescuers took about two hours to extricate the victim from the lorry using special tools.
He added that the victim, who was in stable condition and able to communicate, had been rushed to the hospital for treatment."
