Ex-Sabah PH chairman wants to move on, aims for bigger victory in state polls

KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Christina Liew said it is time to move on and score a bigger victory in the coming state election.

According to the Borneo Post, the state Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister had accepted her defeat after the coalition leaders chose United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation president Datuk Ewon Benedick.

The Api-Api assemblywoman said that she did not expect anything from the election outcome and described the purpose of the election as to elect a new management team.

Liew, who was the Sabah PH chairman since 2017, lost by three votes.

"If the people think the new management can bring us to bigger victory, we go ahead. No problem.

"We will face two difficult challenges next year and we have to focus on (them). We also need to proceed with the agendas of what we want to do.

"We will be preparing for the coming state election. We will have to sit down and discuss among the parties and also within PKR what we need to do for the coming election."

Liew added she will now focus on how to enhance her division and how to win the next state election and party election.

"We are very busy for the next 12 months. We hope to do better in the next state election and there is a lot of work to do," she said.

Liew also thanked all who have been supportive of PH.
