KUALA LUMPUR: Atomy Malaysia delivered essential supplies worth RM70,000 to 170 flood-affected families in the Meranti State Assembly constituency to provide support to victims of the natural disaster.
The marketing company delivered the consumer products on Dec 11, 2024. Among the products donated were laundry detergent, hair and body shampoo, tom yam paste, ramen goreng, toothbrush, toothpaste and vitamins.
Atomy Malaysia director Kea Wong, Rosliza Omar from Atomy Kota Baru Anggun Centre and others distributed the consumer goods at the DUN Meranti multipurpose hall.
Malaysia's north-eastern state of Kelantan has been struck by severe flooding in the past couple of weeks, with the east coast receiving six months' worth of rainfall in just five days.
The floods caused damaged roads, destroyed homes, swept-away cars, and displaced thousands of people.
The relief effort transcended ethnic, racial, and religious boundaries, focusing on supporting vulnerable B40 income group households severely impacted by the flooding, said Atomy Malaysia in a statement.
Recipients received the assistance with deep gratitude, their relief evident as they received the vital support needed to rebuild their lives, it added.
