KUALA LUMPUR: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Na'im Mokhtar has congratulated Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) for maintaining the haj cost for pilgrims next year.
In a brief statement, Nai'im also commended TH for continuing to provide subsidies for B40 and M40 pilgrims.
"Alhamdulillah, I congratulate TH for being able to maintain the haj cost and continue with the financial assistance for haj," he said.
"I hope prospective haj pilgrims who have received the offer to perform haj will make the necessary preparations as best as they can."
TH, at a press conference today, announced that the cost to perform haj for the 1446H/2025 season would remain at RM33,300 per person.
Its managing director and chief executive officer, Syed Hamadah Syed Othman, said B40 'muassasah' pilgrims would have their fees subsidised by 55 per cent, or RM18,300, with an additional RM1,000 financial aid from the government.
This means that B40 pilgrims would need to pay RM15,000 to perform haj.
Syed Hamadah added that TH would subsidise 29 per cent, or RM9,800, of the haj cost for pilgrims in the M40 group, who would pay RM23,500.
Pilgrims in the T20 group would bear the full cost of RM33,300.
