BATU PAHAT: A 15-year-old girl has been reported missing after she failed to return home to Taman Sri Jaya, here, on Jan 2.
Nur Farhana Shahrul Affendy's uncle said attempts to locate her were futile, while calls made to her mobile phone went unanswered.
Mohamad Nurul Anuar Mohd Din, 35, said the family became alarmed when she did not return home as usual that Thursday.
"We searched places that she frequented but our efforts were futile. We also sought assistance from friends in other districts but to no avail.
"She usually visits her friends and returns by night," he said, adding there was no misunderstanding among the family members that could have prompted her to leave.
However, he said Nur Farhana had gone missing in the past but returned home safely days later.
A closed-circuit television (CCTV) installed at their neighbour's house recorded Nur Farhana leaving their house with a bag on a motorcycle with a man at 12.41am.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani confirmed that a missing person report was filed by the family.
Efforts to locate the teenager are ongoing.
Members of the public with information on the missing girl are urged to contact investigating officer Inspector Lin Shao Shen at 016-6898228, the Johor police contingent Hotline at 07-2212999, or the Batu Pahat district police headquarters at 07-4343999.
