KUALA LUMPUR: A woman, suspected to be a policewoman, has sparked outrage after a video of her hurling insulting remarks at policemen went viral.
The incident, believed to have occurred in Gombak, shows the woman raising her voice and asserting that the police officers were unworthy of reprimanding her due to their lower ranks.
In the 25-second video, the woman can be heard berating the officers, stating: "Lans koperal lah, kau tak kayak lah, kau pangkat lagi kecil dari aku lah. Cara cakap macam OCPD, kau tak layak lah (You're only a lance corporal, you don't deserve it, you're lower ranking than me. The way you talk is like an OCPD (police chief). You don't deserve to do so."
She continues to criticise the officers for their alleged arrogance and lower rank.
"Kau jadi pegawai dululah lans koperal, hei lans koperal berlagak macam apa, pangkat dah la rendah (Lance corporal, you become an officer first, you're only a lance corporal why are you so conceited, you're only low ranking)," she said to the policemen.
The motive behind the woman's behavior in the viral video remains unclear.
Acting Gombak police chief Superintendent Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir confirmed the incident and stated that a police report had been filed.
It is believed that the woman was involved in debt collection on behalf of a friend.
The altercation with the police allegedly occurred when the officers requested to see her authority card.
