KUALA LUMPUR: A Twitter account claiming to be Jocelyn Chia's father recently posted that he has disowned the controversial comedian.
The tweet on Anthony Chia Whye Liang's account last Tuesday read, "I publicly announce here for the first time that me and my beloved wife Shirley will disown our daughter @JocelynChia from here onwards until the day of our death.
"Her doing shows my total failure in raising her to be a better person for society. The public deserved better than this."
However, netizens appear unconvinced and refuse to believe that the account belongs to the comedian's father.
User cikkezxk wrote, "This is the first time I've seen a parent disown their child in public."
Another user named mimophyy said, "you can read it but don't believe it."
User coldbrew tweeted, "nice try Jocelyn."
Upon inspection, it was found that Anthony's account was created this month and the account has only tweeted spam hashtags and random tweets.
