#NSTViral: Chinese, Indian motorists argue in BM - proof that language 'unites'

AMPANG JAYA: A heated dispute between two motorists on the road in Dataran Pandan Prima has sparked a wide range of reactions among netizens.

The viral video, originally posted by user @elangovan5058 on TikTok, showed a Chinese woman and an Indian man arguing over an unknown reason.

Many netizens expressed lighthearted praise for their fluent use of the national language, even as tempers flared.

"Both of them use fluent BM. Now these are true Malaysians," wrote user sahabatsejati.

"But the problem is they are arguing," replied user Alexpeter.

"The importance of the national language, (and) arguments proceed smoothly," joked user Madu MHT.

However, others questioned if the dispute was real, raising doubt over the content without proper context.

"But it looks like they are filming a drama," questioned user Abib Hassan.

"This looks like drama acting," said user Selva.

"Filming drama. Caught the crew sitting on the left side. That is the assistant director, or the runner," speculated user Rain.

Such doubts are not unfounded, as many companies are likely filming advertising or television shows for the upcoming National Day, which is celebrated on August 31.

"Is this (a) filming (of) a National Day drama?" asked user Hidayat Ker.

This year's National Day celebration, themed "Malaysia Madani: Jiwa Merdeka," will be held at Putrajaya while Malaysia Day will be celebrated in Sabah on Sept 16.

It is the second National Day celebration under the unity government and the sixth to be held in Putrajaya.
