#NSTviral: Footage of man lying on busy highway leaves netizens fuming

KUALA LUMPUR: A motorist narrowly avoided an accident on the highway when an unknown individual suddenly lay flat on the road amid heavy traffic.

The incident, captured on the car's dashcam, went viral on social media, with over one million views since the clip was uploaded on Facebook on Saturday.

The car was driving on the left lane at a consistent speed when a man suddenly jumped out and lay on the road.

The driver's quick response swerved the car to the right, avoiding the man and other motorists.

It was, however, not mentioned when and where the incident occurred.

A social media user in the comment section claimed the incident occurred near Jalan Duta after recognising buildings close to the Mont Kiara area.

Other netizens expressed anger over the actions of the man, who lay flat on the road, which they said could endanger the lives of other motorists.

Some also commended the drive for remaining calm in the situation.

"If this case leads to death, surely (the driver) will be brought to the police.

"That man is unnecessarily causing trouble for others," a user commented.

"Catch him and tie him down on the side of the road," another said.

The New Straits Times is reaching out to the police for confirmation of the incident.
