#NSTviral: Tense moment at Johor Zoo as kitten rescued from tiger enclosure [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: A stray kitten left visitors at Johor Zoo in suspense when it wandered into a tiger enclosure, narrowly escaping a dangerous encounter with two Malayan tigers.

The tense moment, captured in a viral 2-minute and 20-second video posted by TikTok user @anonymous_not, shows the kitten cornered by the tigers that seemed curious about the tiny creature.

"Unexpected free show at Johor Zoo today.

"Curious to know what happens to the poor kitten? Watch till the end," the caption reads.

The video, posted two days ago had already garnered over 1.8 million views and 123,000 likes.

As the situation unfolded, a zookeeper stepped in, using a water spray to distract the tigers and create enough space and time to rescue the kitten.

The tension peaked when one of the tigers let out a menacing roar after being sprayed.

"I don't know how it happened.

"At first, I saw from afar that one of the tigers was pouncing on something. People around were screaming.

"Then my friend said there was a kitten down there. No idea how it got in," @anonymous_not added in the comment section.

The zookeeper held out their hand and grabbed the kitten, drawing cheers from relieved visitors and netizens in the comment section.

"The cat is traumatised after meeting his 'uncle'," says user @zettyizeck.

"Luckily, the kitten didn't run towards the tiger, because usually when cats get splashed with a bit of water, they run all over the place," says user @kentangputarputar.
