Royal Malaysian Navy personnel cast their votes in Langkawi

LANGKAWI: A total of 574 voters from the Royal Malaysian Navy and their spouses exercised their rights as early voters at the Region Three Naval Headquarters (MAWILA 3 ), here today.

The voting process that began at 8am ran smoothly under good weather condition.

MAWILA 3 commander, First Admiral Rusli Ahmad led the list of voters casting the ballot at Dewan Tun Rahah TLDM.

The 574 Navy men and their spouses are part of 1,588 early voters in Langkawi for two state constituencies.

The other polling centre for early voters is at Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) in Pantai Chenang, here.

At PULAPOL, a total of 1,014 voters exercised their right for both Ayer Hangat and Kuah state seats.

Early voting was carried out for the first time in the 13th general election following the amendment to regulation 27A of the Elections (Conduct of Elections) Regulations1981 for advance voters.
