SHAH ALAM: Selangor Menteri Besar and State PKR chief Amirudin Shari is thankful that he escaped censure from the party disciplinary board yesterday.
However, Amirudin did not want to speak further on the matter, merely saying “Alhamdulilah”.
Amirudin was earlier expected to be censured by the party disciplinary board for purportedly making controversial statements against certain individuals in the party.
However, the board chief Ahmad Kassim said yesterday that no disciplinary action would be taken against Amirudin and Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.
The duo were hauled up after statements made following the emergence of a sex video recently.
Ahmad had said the board was satisfied with the explanations given by Amirudin and Farhash and as of now, there would be no further action against them.
“Just letters of reminder to them, so that they don’t repeat what they said,” he reportedly said.
Amirudin and Farhash were summoned last month over their statements.
The Selangor chief was believed to have been summoned in relation to a speech made at a “solat hajat” event at his official residence.
Ahmad said Amirudin had shown that he respected the party leadership and did not want to prolong the matter, adding that Amirudin did not mention any names in his speech.
“The political bureau has accepted his explanation.”
Farhash, the political secretary of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, had questioned his arrest in connection with the sex video probe.
“No police report has been lodged against me in the first place.
“Anyway, I don’t look like (Datuk Seri Mohamed) Azmin Ali. So why couldn’t the cops just call me?” he had said.
It was reported that Farhash gave a speech outside the Dang Wangi police headquarters following his release and allegedly shouted “Anwar for PM” and “Azmin semburit”.
Ahmad had said that Farhash also regretted his statement, apologised to the leadership and promised not to repeat them.
