PH leaders want Muhyiddin to prove claim of support

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan leaders have called on Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to provide evidence that he has enough support among the 222 members of the Dewan Rakyat.

Parti Amanah Negara deputy Youth chief Faiz Fadzil demanded transparency from Muhyiddin’s side, adding that an emergency Dewan Rakyat meeting will resolve all issues and confusion surrounding his appointment as Malaysia’s 8th Prime Minister.

“An emergency meeting (in Parliament) will be more transparent because we believe we have the numbers and according to the law, those with the majority (get to) rule the country.

“We believe and we hope that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong will act according to the law, the constitution and uphold the rule of law.

“Let’s be more transparent to see who has the most numbers (in Parliament),” he told reporters at Yayasan Al Bukhary here, after interim Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad addressed members of the media today.

DAP central executive committee member Ronnie Liu expressed disappointment over the political crisis which began last Sunday, wherein a coup was attempted by a faction from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and PKR, together with Umno and Pas leaders.

“I agree to have an emergency meeting instead of waiting until March 9, because right now, it looks like the loser takes everything, but the winner has nothing,” he added.
