KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah Youth said the king should consider revoking the Perikatan Nasional's deputy chairman's Tan Sri title awarded to him in 2021.
Amanah Youth deputy chief Abbas Azmi said Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang's admission that there were efforts to topple the government were rude and disrespectful to the decree of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Malay rulers.
"The king has said many times that we must defend the government together and rehabilitate the country.
"So Hadi, as a senior politician with an Islamic image and who is called Tuan Guru, should have rehabilitated the country instead of being power hungry and trying to topple the government," said Abbas after submitting a memorandum to Istana Negara.
He said the Marang member of parliament was also being rude when he said that there was nobody who could stop a change of government.
"Enough with politicking. This is the time for us to focus on the country's development.
"Don't keep calling for more Employees Provident Fund withdrawals, but at the same time, also want to topple the government."
He said if Hadi continued with this stand, Amanah Youth would organise a nationwide roadshow to raise people's awareness about this issue.
"This rudeness should be stopped. We want to make people aware about PN politicians who do not respect the laws of the country."
Hadi had said that politics was dynamic, and this practice was considered normal in a democratic country.
"We try to not only (form a government) through general elections, but also through Parliament. This includes a no-vote confidence, statutory declarations and legislators withdrawing their support."
