KOTA BARU: All 45 Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidates who will be contesting in Kelantan in the upcoming state elections will use the Pas moon logo.
State PN secretary Wan Roslan Wan Hamat said the logo would be used by candidates both from Pas and Bersatu.
He said Pas will be contesting in 39 of the 45 seats while Bersatu will contest in six seats.
"We will use the 'Kelantan Maju, Rakyat Sejahtera' slogan in the upcoming state election," he said.
He then confirmed that at least five former Pas assemblymen will not be contesting.
He said they have expressed this to the caretaker menteri besar and other state Pas leaders.
"We (Pas) has accepted their wish not to contest in the upcoming state election as a majority of them have given strong reasons for not taking part in the election.
"Despite not contesting in the election, they have promised to help PN especially Pas during the polls," he said.
He then said the state PN would announce its candidates on July 27.
It is learnt that among those who have expressed their intention not to contest are assemblymen from the Kijang and Kota Lama state seats as well as the Demit state seat assemblywoman.
On another note, Wan Roslan who is Pengkalan Kubor assemblyman said about a crowd of about 80,000 was expected for the 'Munajat Rakyat Kelantan' programme which will be held at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here on Friday.
Wan Roslan said among the guests were former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed and Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
