SHAH ALAM: Rapper Altimet will be making his first debut as an election candidate, contesting at the Lembah Jaya seat in Selangor.
Altimet, or Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, would contest under the PKR ticket.
His candidacy was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tonight.
The rapper won the Ampang PKR division chief in the party's internal polls, winning against fellow celebrity Hans Isaac with a slim majority of nine votes.
The 43-year-old joined PKR in April last year.
In the 14th General Election, PKR fielded Haniza Talha, who had since defected to Parti Bangsa Malaysia.
