PM to speak at Sabah Keadilan event on Aug 4

KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will deliver a keynote speech at the Keadilan Himpunan Perdana Rakyat here on Aug 4.

Sabah PKR chief Datuk Mustapha Sakmud today said about 10,000 party members and supporters, including those from the unity government, were expected to attend the event.

He said Anwar's speech would be the highlight of the event, which starts at 8am, alongside speeches from nine PKR leaders.

Anwar, who is PKR president, will arrive at 11.30am.

"We believe he will address many issues close to the hearts of the people of Sabah."

Mustapha, who is deputy higher education minister, said the speeches would focus on infrastructure; poverty; youth unemployment; the low average performance in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics among Sabah students; and issues related to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

"This event is an opportunity for all of us to unite, show solidarity, and renew our commitment to the progress and development of our beloved country.

"So the Sabah Keadilan Leadership Council welcomes people's participation in the assembly."
