KOTA KINABALU: Sabah PKR will use its own party's or Pakatan Harapan's logo in the state election.
State PKR information chief Razeef Rakimin today said some news portals had misinterpreted Sabah PH chairman Datuk Christina Liew's statement that the coalition would consider using Gabungan Rakyat Sabah's logo.
"The headlines made it seem as though we are open to using the GRS logo. That is not accurate.
"What (Liew) she meant was that we will continue to use either the PKR logo or the Pakatan Harapan logo.
"However, we have no issue if GRS wants to use its logo, just as our partners can choose their own," he said here.
Razeef said suggestions by Sabah Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) and United Sabah National Organisation (Usno) president Tan Sri Pandikar Amin did not represent the consensus of the GRS coalition.
GRS comprises eight parties: Star, Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku, Sabah Progressive Party, Liberal Democratic Party, Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah, Parti Cinta Sabah and Usno.
Razeef said: "First, they are asking non-local parties not to contest in Sabah.
"Second, they are asking those who want to contest to use the GRS logo. As for us, GRS's decision to use its own logo has nothing to do with us.
"We thank GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for stating that GRS will continue to cooperate with Pakatan Harapan."
He said Sabah PKR was open to negotiations and continued to maintain a good relationship with its partners, whether GRS or Barisan Nasional.
He added that PKR had to maintain these ties to ensure that what the government was trying to implement ran smoothly.
"We are tired of conflicts, tired of changing the prime minister three times in one term. I hope this time there are no issues, and we want the best for the people."
