I feel pain when Klang residents ignore rubbish on field

LETTERS: I want to highlight a football field near my home in Taman Chi Liung, Pandamaran, Klang.

Over the decades, it has been improved with the addition of a small playground, running tracks and an artificial volleyball net with tape surrounding it.

This multipurpose field has become an excellent place for leisure or exercise, an ideal place to escape from the city's polluted air and busy life.

Sadly, as I jogged around the neighbourhood in the morning recently, there was rubbish strewn alongside the tracks and across the field.

Amazingly, children played happily with their parents, unfazed by the dirty environment. Some facilities are also damaged, increasing the risk of injury.

There are at least two dustbins in the field and a sign that reminds people to keep the area clean. However, the sign has been vandalised with graffiti.

The rubbish is an eyesore, but the real pain is when many in the community choose to ignore it.

The lack of common sense and awareness about cleanliness and hygiene, regardless of age, does not create a better environment.

Thus, I plead with Taman Chi Liung residents in Pandamaran to be responsible and care for the public facilities.

The community should come together to clean up this mess, apart from reporting it to the Klang City Council.
