MAN Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun have no intentions to remain a one-hit-wonder.
Instead, the Malaysian men's doubles pair are ready to get back to the grind and become a much solid pair in future tournaments.
Today, world No. 20 Wei Chong-Kai Wun settled for second best at the Super 1000 Indonesia Open after losing 19-21, 21-16, 21-12 to China's Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang in the final at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta.
This comes after a week of stunning badminton from the pair, who had already upset the likes of South Korea's world champions Kang Min Hyuk-Seo Seung Jae en route to the final.
Speaking to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) after their defeat in the final, Kai Wun said: "Our performance was not too bad but it's disappointing because we couldn't win (the title).
"Despite having the lead in the second game, we allowed our opponents to find their rhythm and get back into the game. We, on the other hand, slowed things down."
Wei Chong admitted that there is still a gap between them and their higher-ranked Chinese opponents.
"We lost out to their experience and confidence.
"We can't be happy with this result. We need to go back and train harder, work harder for future tournaments," said Wei Chong.
Prior to the Indonesia Open, Wei Chong-Kai Wun have never made it past the first round in all five of their Super 1000 appearances.
Lee Zii Jia remains the last Malaysian badminton player to win a Super 1000 title following his 2021 All England triumph in Birmingham.
Wei Keng-Wang Chang took home a whopping US$96,200 (RM450,000) for their effort, while Wei Chong-Kai Wun settled for US$45,500 (RM213,000).
