KUALA LUMPUR: Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei's comeback on the World Tour was short-lived as the world No. 9 mixed doubles pair exited in the first round of the Kumamoto Masters in Japan today.
The Malaysians fell 21-15, 21-12 to Thailand's new pairing, Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran, in just 31 minutes.
Tang Jie-Ee Wei had missed several tournaments following the latter's gym accident in September, which required 16 stitches to her arm.
Dechapol, a former world champion alongside Sapsiree Taerattanachai, teamed up with Supissara after the Paris Olympics.
