KUALA LUMPUR: UITM FC midfielder Ousmane Fane missed the birth of his first child due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Frenchman said he really misses his family in Paris but insisted that this has not affected his football focus.
"I hope I can get home soon for a few days just to check on my family. These past few months without football and not being able to be with my family can affect some people but I have a strong mind and football is my job.
"I'm not too sure about the SOP for travelling but UiTM has offered to help me."
The 26-year-old said he is keeping his fingers crossed for the good news of being allowed to fly back to Paris to see his newborn.
But while waiting for the approval, Fane said he's focused on helping university side UiTM.
"With seven games left, we are focused on getting fit again after this big interruption (the M-League was suspended on March 16)," said Fane.
"We want to stay in the Super League for the next season, therefore we must work hard for maximum points.
"We hope the team can finish in the top eight in our first season in the Super League."
The former Oldham Athletic midfielder said he wants to impress UiTM head coach Frank Bernhardt and get to play in all their remaining seven matches.
