KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) were looking to get back to their winning ways after last week's shock 1-0 loss to Terengganu, but it didn't happen yesterday.
The Super League champions dropped two points when they were surprisingly held 1-1 by KL City at KLFA Stadium.
JDT started menacingly by giving the City Boys a fright in the 17th minute when Leandro Velazquez's shot hit a goalpost.
However the spirited KL side, who lost 3-2 to Kedah last week, pushed on and were rewarded with a goal just before half time.
Fakrul Aiman's header found Romel Morales, and the Colombian midfielder beat the offside trap to score.
However, the Southern Tigers got back on level terms in the 56th minute. Nazmi Faiz Mansor's corner kick floated to captain Hariss Harun who headed low past KL City goalkeeper Kevin Mendoza.
At the Hang Jebat Stadium, Kedah overtook Terengganu for second spot in the table when they outplayed Melaka 3-1.
Kedah led 1-0 in the 18th minute when Liberian Kpah Sherman converted a penalty. But Melaka pulled level in the 38th minute through a spot kick taken by Stefan Nikolic.
The dynamic Sherman made it 2-1 for the Red Eagles in the 62nd minute before captain Baddrol Bakhtiar inflicted more misery on the Mousedeer with a goal 24 minutes later.
