NATIONAL youth coach Brad Maloney does not want his boys to get aggressive against brutal Mongolia in today's AFC Under-23 qualifying Group J clash in Ulaanbaatar.
The Young Tigers are feeling confident ahead of the clash following their 1-0 win over Laos on Monday to top the group.
Mongolia, meanwhile, surprised many when they held favourites Thailand to a 1-1 draw on the same day.
Maloney believes the Blue Wolves will be aggressive in the hope of getting a favourable result at the MFF Football Centre today.
Mongolia's direct football and physical game had troubled the Thais on many occasions on Monday.
Maloney wants his boys to be calm and patient and also avoid any negative play against Mongolia.
A win over the Blue Wolves will offer Maloney's side the advantage to top the group and qualify for the tournament proper ahead of their final match against Thailand.
"Mongolia are a strong and physical team. They will be looking to notch their first win after the opening draw. I believe they will be confident as nobody had expected them to steal a point from the Thais. "I believe that as long as we play to instructions, we will be ok," said Maloney yesterday.
"We need to retain possession well, move the ball quicker and avoid physical battles.
"If we can do that and play our own game we will be fine.
"The team are feeling confident after the winning start. We have no major injuries, and everyone is available for the game."
"It is still a wide-open group, so we have to focus and get favourable results in our next two matches.
Mongolia coach Shuichi Mase is not with the team as he has headed back to Japan for eye treatment.
Although Mongolia are not known for football, they have several players plying their trade in Europe.
Among their stars is Gunballar Gunbold, 20, who plays in the Slovak League.
Maloney is confident that KV Kortrijk striker Luqman Hakim Shamsuddin will bounce back today after his subdued performance against Laos.
"Mongolia are an organised side, and against Thailand, they played with desire and energy.
"We need to stick with what we are good at and hope our game plan comes through.
"Luqman is a quality player. Like all good strikers, he will find a way to shine and score goals for the country. I believe he will do so in our next two matches," he added.
