KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor coach Tan Cheng Hoe admitted he had foreseen the danger of facing Police in the Super League.
And it turned into a reality when the Red Giants lost 1-0 to the Cops in one of the biggest upsets in the league at MBPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya on Saturday.
Bruno Suzuki scored the winning goal for the defensive-minded Police in the 61st minute.
Despite the shocking defeat, Selangor are still second in the league with 28 points, while Police are ninth on 16 points.
"It is tough to process the result. We made a mistake, and Police punished us," said Cheng Hoe after the match.
"My players worked hard, but things sometimes do not go your way. We just have to keep believing in ourselves.
Selangor will next face Kelantan United on Wednesday, while Police host Sabah the following day.
