KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor thrashed a hapless Kelantan United 7-1 in a Super League match yesterday.
The Red Giants, who were stunned 1-0 by minnows Police last week, were looking for a quick rebound. And they got it at the Sultan Muhd IV Stadium.
Colombian hitman Ayron Del Valle got a hat-trick (10th minute, 45th and 79th) for the Klang Valley outfit in a rain-soaked match.
Selangor's other goals were scored by Mukhairi Ajmal Mahadi (fourth), Faisal Halim (29th), Yohandry Orozco (51st) and Aliff Izwan Yuslan (78th).
Kelantan, who suffered their 10th defeat of the season, got a consolation goal through Devid De Santana Silva from a penalty (75th) after he was brought down inside the box.
The win strengthened Selangor's second spot in the 14-team standings from 10 wins, one draw and three losses.
