Selangor FC going Samurai

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor FC are really going bushido.

Just after hiring Katsuhito Kinoshi as their head coach less than a week ago, the Red Giants announced on Saturday, the hiring of another Japanese, Jun Marques Davinson, as their assistant head coach.

Davinson previously played for Vissel Kobe, Omiya Ardija, Consadole Sapporo in Japan as well as Charlotte Independence and Vancouver Whitecaps in the United States.

After retiring in 2017, Davinson went into coaching, gaining expertise with youth teams and professional squads in Japan, China, and the US.

Kinoshi, who has known Davinson since their time at Omiya Ardija in 2002, said his compatriot's experience, attitude, and alignment with the Selangor team's philosophy made him an ideal fit.
