KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's World Cup qualifying football matches against Kyrgyzstan and Taiwan are winnable. This is the view of national midfielder Brendan Gan.
"I think there's not much new update but the coaching staff have done an amazing job, everything is organised with the plans and the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted," said Gan during the third day of national team training today.
"We know we have two tough games coming up but they are winnable for us, we feel.
"We have to stay confident, believe in what the coaching staff have put forth for us and cross it when it comes to game time."
World No. 137 Malaysia are scheduled to play world No. 97 Kyrgyzstan in their Group D opener at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Nov 16 before meeting world No. 152 Taiwan away on Nov 21.
On national coach Kim Pan Gon saying he felt "stressed" over the flak he received on social media for calling up Mohamadou Sumareh and Afiq Fazail, Gan said: "Pan Gon speaks to us all the time. We never talk about individuals, we're a team, a unit. We sacrifice to come here and we're always willing to come here, to do the best for the country."
Meanwhile, FAM announced that Terengganu's Azam Azmi Murad, who has a knee injury, will be replaced by Sabah defender Daniel Ting.
