Selangor pledge to honour acid attack victim Faisal Halim's contract through 2027

SHAH ALAM: Acid attack victim Faisal Halim is in good hands as his club, Selangor FC (SFC), have pledged to take care of his welfare and needs throughout his recovery process.

SFC technical committee chairman Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar revealed that Faisal's contract with the Red Giants extends until 2027, and they are committed to helping the footballer recover and return to the sport.

"Faisal's contract with the team runs until 2027. As a professional club, it is our responsibility as an employer to take care of our players' welfare, including Faisal's," Shahril said.

"The club will continue to support him mentally, physically, and financially until he can return to playing again. With the spirit shown by Faisal, God willing, he will return," said Shahril at a press conference with Faisal at the FAS Training Centre in Shah Alam on Thirsday.

Winger Faisal suffered fourth-degree burns on his neck, shoulder, hands, and chest in the attack at a shopping centre in Kuala Lumpur on May 5. Nicknamed "Mickey," the popular 26-year-old spent three weeks in the hospital and underwent multiple surgeries for his burns.
