Players from JDT and Selangor dominate national Under-19 team

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian football team for the Under-19 Asean Championship starting today in Surabaya, Indonesia, comprise mainly players from Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and Selangor.

Of the 23-player team, coached by Spaniard Juan Torres Garrido, 11 are from JDT and seven players from Selangor.

The others include one each from the Mokhtar Dahari Academy, Sabah, Perak, and two from Terengganu.

Defending champions Malaysia begin their Group C campaign against Brunei today, Singapore on Monday and Thailand on July 25.
