'Cambodia cricketers are beatable'

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia cricketers must have a strong belief that no opponents are unbeatable in the Phnom Penh Sea Games.

And Singapore proved this when they stunned favourites Cambodia despite the latter being powered by Indian and Pakistan imports today. Singapore upset Cambodia with 26 runs in the men's six overs at the AZ Oval Ground.

Singapore made 97 runs with loss of three wickets, while Cambodia who won both the gold in the men's 50 overs and T20, were restricted to 71 runs with the fall of five wickets.Tomorrow, Malaysia will face Cambodia for the third time in a final, having lost in the 50 overs and T20 finals.

For coach Bilal Asad and his men, this is their last chance to return with a gold medal from Phnom Penh.Team manager Amy Mokhzani said Singapore's surprise win over Cambodia showed that there is no team that cannot be beaten.

"Singapore's win over Cambodia is a morale boost for us. Our players, too, can turn the tables on the hosts."Malaysia wicket keeper Syed Aziz Syed Mubarak, 24, said God has given them another chance to settle the score with Cambodia.

"No one thought that we would reach the T10 final after losing to Singapore, but things happened."We are now all fired up in our last chance for the gold medal. We have a strong batting lineup and we will try to get as many runs as possible."
