KUALA LUMPUR: A "tackle" by a mosquito has brought down brawny national rugby player Amin Jamaluddin.
As a result, he couldn't join the national training camp starting today at Universiti Putra Malaysia for the Asia Championship. The Perlis-born forward was hospitalised yesterday.
Amin, 35, whose nickname is Bonzer, is expected to miss the Asia Championship matches against South Korea in Incheon on June 2 and Hong Kong at UPM Stadium on June 8.
Amin, who played for TV 1834 Pforzheim in the German League in 2021, is a key member of the national team.
Team manager Akmal Yunos said: "It will take Amin one or two weeks to recover. He will definitely miss the opening match against Korea."
