Panipak Wongpattanakit made history by becoming the first Thai athlete to win two Olympic gold medals, after successfully defending her Tokyo title in the flyweight taekwondo division.
At the other end, Australian Olympic hockey player Tom Craig was released by Paris police after his arrest for purchasing cocaine. Craig apologised to his family and teammates.
As of yesterday, the United States lead the medal standings with 27 gold, 35 silver and 32 bronze. China follow closely with 25 gold, 23 silver and 17 bronze while Australia hold third place with 18 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze.
