Thai singer dies after receiving neck twist massage to relieve shoulder pain

KUALA LUMPUR: The death of a female singer after undergoing a massage that included neck twisting in Thailand has gone viral.

According to The Straits Times, Phing Chyada experienced pain in the back of her neck following the massage, which she received in Udon Thani in November to relieve pain in her shoulder.

Two days after the massage, Chyada reported worsening symptoms, including a weakened right arm and partial paralysis, affecting 50 per cent of her body.

The case came to public attention on Dec 8, when the Drama Addict Facebook page announced Chyada's death.

"People should avoid receiving massages on the neck or spine. Those who experience headaches, vomiting, dizziness, or weakness in the arms and legs should consult a doctor immediately," the post warned.
