Kian Meng-Pei Jing's fairytale Indonesia Open run ends in semi-finals

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing's fairytale run at the Indonesia Open ended in the semi-finals on Saturday.

The Malaysian mixed doubles pair, who soldiered on despite personal problems, lost 21-16, 21-18 to China's Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta.

The China pair will face their compatriots, world No. 1 Zheng Si Wei-Huang Ya Qiong, in the final on Sunday.

Earlier last week, Pei Jing took to social media to share that she had fallen victim to an investment syndicate.

Having already filed a police report, Pei Jing requested that her family and friends give her space to process her feelings and emotions.
