KUALA LUMPUR: Road users are advised to avoid using the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) to get to the city centre, as the road is undergoing construction.
Road users are advised to use the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway and the Besraya Highway to access the city centre, as the stretch will undergo a right-lane diversion that began yesterday.
Projek Lintasan Sungai Besi–Ulu Kelang Sdn Bhd (Prolintas), the concessionaire of the SUKE, in a statement yesterday, said the diversion involved north and southbound traffic.
The diversion is at the median area near Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS).
The right lane will be closed to facilitate piling installation, structural and beam work over a 1.8km stretch.
Prolintas said construction work was scheduled to start yesterday and was expected to be completed on Feb 28, 2019.
Therefore, motorists were advised to be cautious when using the highway and to obey traffic instructions, said Prolintas.
Safety features such as safety cones, signboards, plastic and concrete barriers will be erected.
A 24-hour emergency traffic response patrol would check on the affected routes, the concessionaire said.
