KUALA LUMPUR: NWP Holdings Bhd (NHB) is venturing into a special motorbike purchase programme targeted at existing Grab Food riders.
The tailormade program is exclusively for Grab riders aand this includes competitive pricing as well as zero down payment for motorbike purchase if applicants meet stipulated conditions.
NHB head of group operation Teoh Peak Swee said the company was excited to work on this new motorbike business venture, and in particular, the opportunity to reach out to the huge market of Grab food delivery riders.
"Our motorbike programmes offer very competitive pricing. On top of that, we also offer zero down payment for the motorbikes if certain criteria are met.
"This would substantially lower the financial barriers for prospective food delivery riders and encourage higher levels of participation in the food delivery services industry, which is currently experiencing a significant boom in demand due to the Covid-19 pandemic," she said in a statement today.
As the trading of motorbikes and provision of after-sales support services will be undertaken by NHB's in-house team, the group has decided not to proceed with the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with EZ One Bikers Sdn Bhd, which the company had planned earlier.
She said as part of the motorbike business venture, NHB was setting up a new sales gallery and service centre which sits on 15,000 square feet of land with a built-up area of 9,100 square feet.
Slated to open next month in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, the sales gallery will have a wide selection of motorbikes.
It also offers after-sales support services as well as sale of motorbike parts and accessories.
The centre, which is open to public, will have a dedicated and spacious self-service café for riders as well to take a quick break and rest in between their delivery duties.
"We are excited with the prospect of this collaboration as we see huge potential given the size of the industry and the growing demand.
"This is a very positive development for the group as it enables us to ride on the growth of the Grab food delivery services market, providing us a new income stream," Teoh said.
