Tan Sri Idris Jusoh resigns as FELDA chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Idris Jusoh will end his service as the chairman of FELDA effective June 30, earlier than the scheduled date in May next year.

The former chief minister of Terengganu stated that his resignation from the position would pave the way for the government to appoint a more suitable replacement.

"I have accepted the decision from the Prime Minister's Office to resign from the position of FELDA Chairman effective June 30.

"I would like to express my gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for allowing me to hold this position under his leadership.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to all settlers, FELDA officers, and everyone who has provided tremendous cooperation throughout my service.

"May FELDA continue to prosper with blessings," he said in a Facebook post today.

Idris, also a former Minister of Education, was appointed as the chairman of FELDA on May 1, 2020, and his contract was extended for two years until May 2022 under the administration of Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Idris' contract was initially supposed to end in May next year.
