Irmohizam Ibrahim is first Malaysian elected to World Trade Centres Association's board 

KUALA LUMPUR: World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur group managing director Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim has become the first Malaysian to be elected as a board member of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA). 

He is also the first Malaysian to be the chairman of WTCA's Conferences & Exhibitions Member Advisory Council (MAC).

The WTCA network has more than 340 members from 90 countries around the world.

Irmohizam's appointment reflects his exceptional contributions and leadership within the global business events (BE) industry. 

Additionally, he serves as an active member of the advisory board for the Malaysian Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers.

The appointment as chairman of MAC reaffirms his status as a prominent leader and influencer in the BE industry, and solidifies Malaysia's presence on the global stage.

"I am deeply honoured and humbled by the opportunity to serve on the WTCA board of directors. This is a momentous achievement not only for me but also for Malaysia, and it reflects the strength and potential of our nation in the global business events community.

"I am committed to working tirelessly to bring Malaysia to the forefront of this industry and make us even stronger in the game," he said in a statement today.

"Together, we can achieve great things for our country and the international business community," said Irmohizam, who was born in Kampung Kuantan, Kuala Selangor. 

Irmohizam will join the other WTCA board members next month in New York to attend its first meeting for the new term and attend the WTCA Member Forum 2023. 

Among the newly-elected WTCA board members are Vijay Kalantri (WTC Mumbai), Catherine Lee (WTC Suzhou), Christina Shen (WTC Shenyang),Vineet Verma (WTC Bengaluru) and Freerk Faber (WTC Twente).
