Jiankun moves up Saiful Nizam Mohd Yusoff to chairman, GDV to surge to RM2bil

KUALA LUMPUR: Jiankun International Bhd has elevated its president Datuk Saiful Nizam Mohd Yusof to chairman effective from today.

Executive director and chief executive officer Edwin Silvester Das highlighted the instant impact from Saiful Nizam's appointment will see the gross development value of Jiankun's property projects soaring to RM2 billion.

This will be boosted by an ambitious development on 3.69 acres along Jalan Tun Razak here.

"Our team is poised and confident to embark on the ambitious redevelopment of the 3.69-acre site along Jalan Tun Razak.

"The transformation envisages eco-friendly 52-storey apartment towers and three additional towers with retail and residential components, with an impressive GDV of RM1.2 billion," Saiful Nizam said after  meeting with other board members including Edwin and executive director Datuk Donald Lim.

Situated just a five-minute walk (or 400 metres) from the nearest MRT station, Jiankun claimed that this prime real estate in Kuala Lumpur's central business district, in close proximity to KLCC, promises lucrative returns for the company over the next five to eight years.

Edwin said Jiankun's focus extends beyond profitability.

"All our endeavours prioritise environmental sustainability, green practices and affordability for the benefit of our homeowners.

"Take for instance Taman Panchor Jaya, a pioneering freehold project adjacent to the mature township of Nebong Tebal and just 10km away from the second link to Penang Island. It stands as a testament to innovation, incorporating solar panels during construction."

He added that the pricing for these 116 double-storey terrace houses is expected to be "so competitive that serious enquiries have already surpassed the available units by a ratio of 2:1, against the backdrop of land scarcity in Penang and rising demand for gated communities."

Jiankun has ventured into another promising freehold development in Simpang Ampat, Bukit Tambun, adjacent to Eco-Meadow and Batu Kawan township.

The 520-service apartments project, located just 10km from the second link to Penang Island, holds an expected GDV if between RM200 million and RM220 million.

Lim, meanwhile, said through its venture in Klebang, about 15-minute drive to Melaka Gateway, Jiankun is poised to leverage the revival of the mega deep-water port project in Southeast Asia.

"The anticipated benefits stemming from the China Belt and Road initiative would be mutually advantageous.

"Accordingly, we shall strategically synchronise the launch of our Klebang project with the progression of this monumental undertaking," he added.
