Fazura eager to go back to recording studio

FRESH from releasing her single, Nothing Like Pag-Ibig, with Filipino singer Jason Dy, popular actress and singer Nur Fazura Sharifuddin is eager to return to the recording studio to record another duet — this time around, with television heart-throb, actor Fattah Amin, 26, of Suri Hati Mr Pilot fame.

Titled Hero Seorang Cinderella, the pop ballad, which is written and composed by singer-songwriter Aizat Amdan, is the official soundtrack for the 24-episode drama series of the same name.

Not only that, Fazura’s fifth single, Bisa Apa, released early this year, will also be included in the series’s soundtrack.

However, due to their busy filming schedules, the duo will head to the studio at a later date.

“Both of us are tied up with filming the TV series in Pulau Perhentian.

“Next week, we will fly to Belgium to continue filming the remaining scenes for the drama,” said Fazura, 34, at the launch of Nothing Like Pag-Ibig at Red Box, The Gardens in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Fazura, who won the Best Actress award at the 27th Malaysian Film Festival in 2015, said she loved the upbeat mood of the duet with Fattah.

“The beat is catchy and uplifting.

“I was drawn to it when I heard it for the first time.”

In the drama series, Fazura and Fattah play onscreen couple Nura Medina and Tengku Ian Uzzam.

This marks their first acting collaboration.

Fazura has been on several “dates” with Fattah to help build the chemistry between them so that their portrayal in the drama will be convincing.

“Fattah is a nice guy but he is very shy. Sometimes, we make fun of each other.

“This helps take away the awkwardness when playing onscreen couple,” she said.

Hero Seorang Cinderella, directed by Michael Ang, will premiere on May 22 on Astro Ria (Astro channel 104).
