KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and singer Nur Fazura has come under fire after her off-key singing during an interview in Indonesia went viral.
Fazura was promoting her latest single, Bertahan Demi Cinta, a duet she recorded with her ex-husband, Fattah Amin.
The video, which circulated widely yesterday, triggered a wave of reactions, with many social media users discussing her performance.
The topic has even trended in Malaysia on the platform X.
Fazura's singing was part of an interview with SEA Today News, where she performed the song live. Netizens were quick to share blunt opinions, with some suggesting that Fazura should consider vocal training if she plans to continue singing.
Comments ranged from "I feel like crying when I hear her sing" to "Why choose to sing?"
Another user sarcastically noted, "Hidden talent that deserves to be hidden."
Notably, musician and actor Rashidi Ishak also weighed in on Threads, advising Fazura's manager to recommend vocal coaching, saying she seemed "tone deaf."
Bertahan Demi Cinta was released just two days after Fazura and Fattah's divorce on Oct 7.
The song, produced by Ippo Hafiz and published by Indonesian music label Hits Records, was recorded back in February when the couple was still together.
They tied the knot in November 2017 and have a four-year-old daughter, Nur Fatima Aisya.
