KUALA LUMPUR: Hip hop and R&B singer Kayda Aziz says that her relationship with her father, music producer Roslan Aziz is just like any other parent-child relationships.
“Of course, there are ups and downs, and there are times when we just disagree with each other, but family is family,” said the 26-year-old singer who is Roslan’s eldest child from his first marriage with renowned singer Datuk Sheila Majid.
“I know he supports me... in his own way,” explained Kayda who had aired her disagreement with her father on social media when he commented on Sheila’s performance last year.
Roslan “professionally” commented that his former wife had sung the song Lagenda, during the Sea Games 2017 closing ceremony in Bukit Jalil, “out of tune”, to which Kayda responded: “Memang lah! You kan tahap Celine Dion (Of course! Aren't you the same level as Celine Dion?)".
The young singer recently launched her debut album titled Love For No Reason, with a special showcase at The Bee in Publika.
Produced by Indonesian album producer Emir Hermono, and Malaysians B.E.M. and Puffietop, the six-track album also features Sheila in the song, Call On Me.
