KUALA LUMPUR: A name synonymous with jazz, style and showmanship, Datuk Sheila Majid is set to take music lovers on yet another exciting musical adventure this June 14.
Sheila will be teaming up for the first time with Indonesian disco music duo Diskoria in A Time Travel With Diskoria Featuring Datuk Sheila Majid at 6pm in Zepp KL, Jalan Hang Tuah here.
Diskoria and Sheila will serenade Malaysian and Indonesian fans for two-hours non-stop at the state of the art concert hall and their show is presented by My Deteksi and Sembang Kari Entertainment with the support of Tourism Malaysia.
My Deteksi head Shafika Mazlan said that it was an honour to have one of Malaysia's greatest music legends to represent the country in A Time Travel.
"Sheila is a household name in Malaysia as well as Indonesia and she is widely loved in the republic.
"Diskoria, which has entertained Malaysians twice in the past, specially chose to team up with Sheila as they have always been her big fans," she said at the concert's launch in Perdana KLCC, Jalan Binjai here today.
Shafika added that dance music artiste Jemput Dengar will also serve as the concert's opening act.
Diskoria members Merdi Simanjuntak and Fadli Aat expressed optimism that their show will be a blast with Sheila on board.
"We are so excited to share the stage with Sheila. She is simply magical on the big stage and we are confident that it will be a superb two hours of solid entertainment," said Merdi.
Fadli said that the duo encouraged Malaysians to come fully dressed in their retro disco best on the night of the concert.
"For those who loved Saturday Night Fever and the heydays of disco music in the 1970s, here is your chance to party the night away with us," he said.
Sheila said in a televised message from Indonesia that she was looking forward to the concert.
"It is going to be a party like no other and I hope all of us will have a great time celebrating the best of dance music," she said, adding that she would perform Diskoria's hits and her own songs in dance-music-style for the first time.
Diskoria is famous for its hit songs Badai Telah Berlalu. Balada Insan Muda, Pelangi Cinta, and Serenata Jiwa Lara.
