KUALA LUMPUR: Stinging criticism from Indonesian Netizens unhappy with her duet with Anggun will not discrouage Nur Fazura Sharifuddin from recording more songs in future.
The 34-year-old actress-singer has accepted their criticism as constructive, and described her duet with Indonesian superstar Anggun, The Good Is Back, as a learning experience.
“I’m open to criticism from music fans.
I admit I’m not in the same league as my esteemed singing partner, Anggun, but I did my best, and enjoyed working with her,” said Fazura in a recent news report.
“Criticism is good for me, because I learn from my mistakes and strive to improve my singing.”
Fazura admitted that The Good Is Back was a difficult song, but thanked Anggun for inviting her to perform with her.
“I took up the challenge because I’m a big fan of Anggun. Challenges make me go a step or more higher,” said Fazura.
The official video of the duet, which was uploaded on YouTube on April 19, has garnered 146,000 views, but many Netizens felt that Fazura “needed a lot of catching up” with Anggun.
Some of them even accused the Pisau Cukur star of “ruining” the song with her “weak vocals” and suggested that Anggun choose a more experienced duet partner.
