#Showbiz: We have your back, says actress Hannah Delisha to Syafiq Kyle

KUALA LUMPUR: Singaporean singer-actress Hannah Adlina Blackburne Birch, better known as Hannah Delisha, stands by her TV and film co-star Syafiq Kyle, and sympathises with his predicament.

Hannah, best known for playing Syafiq’s love interest in the drama Mencintaimu Mr Photographer is saddened that the actor whose real name is Syafiq Shamim Abdul Razak has suffered as a result of “slander and rumour-mongering”.

“Syafiq is one of my best friends in showbiz, and I’ve known him to be a family-oriented person. I don’t know what actually transpired, but it’s wrong to point fingers at him, and neither should we jump to conclusions,” she said at the launch of

Terima Kasih Syawal 2018 which features Hari Raya Aidilfitri TV programmes from TV3, ntv7 and TV9, at New World Hotel in Petaling Jaya yesterday.

Hannah, 22, said everybody makes mistakes and thus, Netizens should not condemn others, especially artistes who brought joy to fans with their acting and singing.

“I’m confident Syafiq will stay strong, and eventually clear his name. Syafiq, your friends in the industry are right behind you!”

Hannah, who will appear with Syafiq in Osman Ali’s supernatural romantic film Langsuir on June 21, said Netizens should refrain from “attacking” celebrities on social media and use it instead to spread positive messages.

Syafiq, 26, claimed on Tuesday that an allegedly lewd video associated with him cropped up about two years ago, but could not confirm its authencity.

Neither confirming nor denying he was the man in the video, Syafiq said he left it to the public to “make their own conclusions”.

The actor also said that he and his management were doing their best to ensure that the public stopped sharing the video, and they had mulled legal action against any individual who shared it.

Syafiq regretted that a screenshot of the video had gone viral, and was edited by irresponsible individuals who slandered him.

Last Sunday, an entertainment portal reported that a Twitter user claimed he was in possession of the 35-second video “featuring” Syafiq.

The video featured a close-up view of a man who bore an uncanny resemblance to the actor, and he appeared to be involved in a vague conversation with a woman.

The anonymous Netizen claimed that they were “doing something naughty”.
